  1. What do I need before I start?
    A Mac, Kiro IDE (kiro.dev), a Logitech MX Creative Console, and Logi Options+.
  2. How do I install it?
    Install "Kirocan for Mac" from the Logi Marketplace. Everything the plugin needs is bundled, so there's no terminal, Node.js, or SDK to set up. A small local helper service is embedded in the plugin and starts automatically when the plugin loads.
  3. Why is macOS asking whether "node" can control my computer?
    That's expected the first time you press a button. Click Allow. The plugin needs Accessibility to send prompts and shortcuts to Kiro, and Screen Recording to capture screenshots into chat.
  4. I denied the permission prompt by mistake — how do I fix it?
    Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and enable the plugin under both Accessibility and Screen Recording, then press the button again.
  5. Does the order I assign buttons in matter?
    Yes, on two of the three pages. The 9 LCD keys work as a single canvas — a ghost walks across all nine while Kiro is working — so the tiles only line up if the animated pages are assigned left to right, top to bottom. Page 1 (Snippets & Controls), in order: Screen Capture, Be Honest, Don't Code Yet, Show Options, Explain Why, Stop, Keep Short, No Tests, Go! Page 2 (Utility) — order doesn't matter here: New Session, Struct Prompt, Inline Chat, Terminal→Chat, Screen Record, Ask Kiro, iPhone Record, Start Spec, Git Commit. Assign "Session Navigate" to the dial. Page 3 (Prompt Commands, each acts on the open file), in order: Criticize, Refactor, Write Tests, Explain, Fix Bug, Optimize, Review, Document, Simplify.
  6. Why does the ghost keep changing?
    It reflects how much context the current session has used. It goes from normal to worried to on fire — once it's on fire, it's time to start a new session.
  7. What is iPhone Record and how do I set it up?
    It's an optional action that captures iPhone video straight into Kiro chat. Your iPhone and Mac need to be on the same Wi-Fi, and ffmpeg must be installed on the Mac. As a one-time setup, install the "Kiro Record" Shortcut and set your Mac's hostname — it's shown in the notification the first time you press the button — then allow incoming connections for "node" when macOS asks.
  8. iPhone Record isn't working. What should I check?
    Confirm both devices are on the same Wi-Fi, that the hostname in the Shortcut is correct, and that "node" is allowed through the Mac firewall.
